Happy 2019 everyone! I'm so sorry I've been absent from the blog, but the holiday season swept me off my feet with so many custom orders on Etsy! So to celebrate the new year, I'm gifting you with one of the custom patterns I made during my holiday break, Gengar! For those who aren't familiar, Gengar is a ghost type Pokemon and one of the original 151 from Gen 1. There really isn't much more to say about him, so enjoy! Stitch to the end of the row. Row 11: Chain 1, flip piece over. Stitch across until the next marker. Row 12: Chain 1, flip piece over. Stitch across to next marker. Fasten off. Leave tail long enough to stitch leg on to the body. Place the legs in a way so that Gengar can stand. Arms x2 Row 1: stitch 5 into a magic ring Row 2: inc, inc, inc, inc, inc (10) Row 3: Stitch across Row 4: 1, inc, 1, inc, 1, inc, 1, inc, 1, inc (15) Row 5-6: Stitch across Row 7: 10, ch 1. Flip arm. Row 8: Stitch 10 to the original marker. Row 9: Ch 1, stitch 10. Fasten off. Leave an end long enough to stitch arm on to body. Tail Row 1: Chain 3, attach with slip stitch (3) Row 2: Inc across (6) Row 3: Inc, 5 (7) Row 4: Inc, 6 (8) Row 5: Inc, 7 (9) Row 6: Inc, 8 (10) Row 7: Inc, 9 (11) Row 8: Inc3, 10 (13) Row 9: Inc3, 12 (15) Row 10: Inc3, 14 (17) Row 11: Inc3, 16 (19) Row 12: 1, Inc3, 18 (22) Row 13: 22, fasten off Stitch tail into the round side of the body. The tail should act as a support to all the other limbs so Gengar can stand on its own. Ears x2 Row 1: Chain 3, stitch together into a ring. Row 2: Inc3, 2 (5) Row 3: Inc3, 5 (8) Row 4: Inc, 7 (9) Row 5: Inc, 8 (10) Row 6: Inc, 9 (11) Row 7: Inc, 10 (12) Row 8: Inc3, 11 (14) Row 9: Inc3, 13 (16) Row 10: 16, fasten off. Take white, black, and red wool roving and needle felt the face onto the body as desired. See the image below for a more detailed visual on how I made his face.
